About F.L. Ternskie

F.L. Ternskie is a tutoring and manuscript editing agency independently run and proudly based in Canada.  We offer tutoring services in a variety of subjects to learners of all ages, to students in primary school, high school, and university, and to any child, youth, or adult who wishes to make their own discoveries in one of our subjects and feels a tutor would help them to orientate themselves more confidently within and to more adeptly investigate these terrains.  We are also specialists in tutoring in English as a second or additional language (ESL/EAL).
F.L. Ternskie is also a proofreading and editing company.  We offer a proofreading service for essays and academic papers, and manuscript editing services for post-graduate theses, fiction and non-fiction manuscripts (including memoir), and poetry.  We do not offer ghostwriting services, but we can help you with your post-graduate thesis.
As a tutoring service, we are highly experienced tutors in the following subjects: Reading comprehension and writing composition (all grades and levels), ESL/EAL, social studies, university or college sociology, high school and university history, high school language arts and university English literature, communications, political science, criminology and human justice, and all subjects for primary education in grades 5-8.  Our approach as tutors is to adapt our tutoring approach to your preferred style of learning and to build from your core and developmental strengths.
As an editing service, we are all highly experienced and published writers of fiction, literary non-fiction, non-fiction, academic papers, and poetry.  We all have extensive experience in editing all of the above and our approach to your work will be determined with your approval following a discussion about your manuscript and your needs respecting it.

Tutoring Rates
We offer tutoring sessions of one hour or two hours, or we offer a 3-hour study block.
One hour: $30
Two hours: $50
3-hour study block: $75

Proofreading and manuscript editing rates:
Depends on the length and the state of your essay, paper, or manuscript.   We would need to see the unedited draft to determine a rate and we could negotiate from there.  For manuscripts, the rate will also be affected by the kind of editing you desire.
